Wednesday/Thursday, June 8th and 9th

A long drive with a nice land cruiser and luckily air condition brings us to some very deserted places at the edge of the Danakil desert and some kind of military something camp.
We are 13 tourists in 3 cars + 1 car with guide and cooks and now, after the military camp, some soldiers for our protection. We are close to the Eritrean border and there have been incidents in the past – but we were assured everything is ok now – and yes, we have those soldiers ;-). I’m sharing the car with Joey and Chris from the Philippines and Philipp from Switzerland.
